Rio 18 keep bringing the sonic sunshine, this time with two covers of artists close to Carwyn Ellis’s heart: “Gorffennaf” (meaning “July”) is Carwyn’s Welsh translation of the Italian summer pop classic “Luglio’” by Riccardo del Turco - an infectious ear worm if ever there was one!

“Esa Tristeza” (“That Sadness”) is originally by the legendary Uruguayan group, El Kinto and is a Spanish version (Carwyn’s first!) of the song which appears on the forthcoming tribute compilation to its composer, Eduardo Mateo. It also features appearances by dear Rio 18 pals, Nina Miranda on vocals and Little Barrie on guitar.
